During our opening weekend we are screening films linked to our theme of Conflict, Trauma and Reconciliation in a pan-African context, all accompanied by discussions led by experts in the fields of trauma and reconciliation.

We start off the week with our exciting Short Film Competition, where the winner of the £1,000 prize money will be announced.

The rest of the festival is packed with screenings of contemporary features, shorts and documentaries, many with the filmmakers and producers in attendance. A range of complementary events include an academic symposium on art and trauma, a seminar, storytelling event, masterclass and exhibition.

All screenings take place at Filmhouse Cinema, unless otherwise indicated. Tickets can be booked in advance from Filmhouse box office or online (see left for details). Complementary events and the afternoons of documentary screenings at the Edinburgh College of Art are free and non-ticketed.
